Wow.. Firebug really rocks. It’s s a web developer plugin for Firefox, but on steroids.

Firebug integrates with Firefox to put a wealth of development tools at your fingertips while you browse. You can edit, debug, and monitor CSS, HTML, and JavaScript live in any web page.

Way way too many features to list, but to give you an idea it has network latency monitoring, live editing of HTML, CSS etc. Ajax HTTP request monitoring… and best of all, CSS padding/margin etc visualisation!
